ELIGIBILITY
The Euterpe Music Awards is open to musicians from all over the world in the classical categories of Piano, Strings, Voice, Woodwind, Brasswind, Percussion, Piano Four Hands & Chamber Music.
Candidates must send a video of their musical performance through a link. We accept links to the main video websites worldwide: YouTube, Vimeo, BiliBili or Youku. The maximum length of the video is determined by the age category.

Woodwinds: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone

Piano Four Hands
Classical Voice: Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, Bass
Chamber Music (including instrument ensemble and singing groups): Duo, Trio, Quartet, Quintet, String ensemble, Wind ensemble, Brass ensemble, Chamber Choir Group
Repertory:
The selection of the repertoire is at the free choice of the candidates within the Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Contemporary styles.
The repertoire presented can be the same for all rounds or changed between each round.
Age Groups & Programme Duration:
Professional: Born in or before 1997 (no maximum age limit) / Up to 20 min
Master A: Born in 1998/1999 / Up to 20 min
Master B: Born in 2000/2002 / Up to 15 min
Advanced A: Born in 2002/2003 / Up to 15 min
Advance B: Born in 2004/2005 / Up to 12 min
Junior A: Born in 2006/2007 / Up to 12 min
Junior B: Born in 2008/2009 / Up to 10 min
Junior C: Born in 2010/2011 / Up to 10 min
Young A: Born in 2012/2013 / Up to 7 min
Young B: Born in 2014/2015 / Up to 7 min
Prodigy: Born in 2016/2017 / Up to 5 min
Little Stars: Born in 2018 and younger / Up to 5 min
There may be multiple winners in each of the age categories and instruments.
COMPETITION FORMAT
1. First Round (FREE APPLICATION)
Candidates must send a video clip (audio is not accepted) of their performances and fill in their personal data using the link provided on our website for the application process. Contestants can submit only a single video link, but the recording can contain different pieces or movements of pieces recorded in different places and dates. The recordings included in the video must be made during the 12 months prior to the deadline. The maximum duration of the video depends on the age category.
More than one camera may be used for the video recording, but sound effects must not be added to the recording (opening credits with the name of the musician, the title of the piece, and the composer are acceptable). Each piece must be a continuous recording. Recordings can be paused between each piece.
The contest will accept video recordings with piano, orchestra, chamber ensemble, wind, percussion, or any other accompaniment required by the composer in the published work.
COVID-19 exception. The Awards will accept recordings with pre-recorded accompaniment for any entry that cannot be recorded live with accompanying musicians due to social distancing.
Contestants will be disqualified from the competition for violating any of the rules or regulations. EMA reserves the right to make changes. All contestants will be notified as soon as possible if changes are made.
The deadline for Application to the EMA for the first round is is October 31, 2024.
2. Final Round (INVITATION & REGISTRATION)
Candidates who pass the First Round will receive an email invitation with instructions on how to register for the Final Round. Only contestants who pass the First Round will be able to advance to the Final round.
Participants can participate with the same recording in both rounds or, if they wish, they can change it during the registration process for the final round.
The registration fee for the Final round is € 88. For chamber music and piano four hands it is €150 per group. We will provide a secure link for payment. Once the registration fee has been paid, it cannot be returned under any circumstances.
All contestants will receive a high-resolution digital diploma once the results of the Final Round have been published.
3. Nomination Process (FREE APPLICATION)
Once the Final Round has concluded, the EMA organisation will announce the candidates nominated for the special awards. The nominees will be chosen from the candidates that have obtained a platinum or gold prize in the Final Round.
For the nomination process, the nominees can participate with the same video as in the Final Round or change it if they wish when notified by mail that they have been nominated. Participation in the nomination process does not require additional payment.
A selection of nominees will be invited to appear in the Gala Concert that will take place in Berlin in Berlin in the Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmoniker on June 15, 2025.
4. Marking System
Platinum Prize: 100 points
Gold Prize: 95-99 points
Silver Prize: 88-94 points
Bronze Prize: 79-87 points
Special Prize: 70-78 points
Honour Prize: 65-69 points
Finalist’s Certificate: 50-64 points
The number of awards is limited, but they can be shared if more than one contestant reaches the same mark.
